Leash lengths are for the leather part, not including the 3 inch snap hook (2.5 inch interior length). Select 18 for about the length of a standard neck-tie when worn from the D-ring of a collar. Made from soft chap leather they are quite flexible and comfortable. They're also incredibly strong, because they are stitched with 277 nylon cord, which has a break strength of 45 pounds per strand. And there are 4 strands down the length of the leash. The handle is an additional layer of the same color chap leather, or a contrasting color as you like.
