How do I clean my collar/leash/cuffs/belt/harness/whatever?

LEATHER: Your best bet is water only - on a damp wash cloth (preferably one you can sacrifice, since this may stain the washcloth). Run hot water on your tap, soak the washcloth, wring it out tight, and then GENTLY scrub the leather surface. When you have done that a few times, let the item(s) dry. For Fur ONLY: after gently wiping it in the direction of the fur grain, you can use a natural (boar's hair) bristle hairbrush to separate the fluff, brush gently with the grain.

For fur lined items that are too oily for water alone to clean, you can try a tiny quantity of hand soap on your moist washcloth (not so much that there are suds). Then repeat the earlier suggested cleaning method: soak the washcloth, wring it out tight, and then brush the fur with the grain, gently. When you have done that a few times, let the item(s) dry. You can use a natural (boar's hair) bristle hairbrush to separate the fluff, brush gently with the grain.

After trying these methods, if you still have questions or concerns, please contact Lagarto. White leather in particular is susceptible to permanent damage, but this can be solved with careful application of white acrylic paint.

GatorStrap™ items may be cleaned with soap and water, thoroughly rinsed, then dried with a towel.
